Channel Shipping Mappings

What Are Channel Shipping Mappings?

Channel shipping mappings allow orders being imported from a channel to be mapped to a central shipping policy.

Once a channel shipping mapping is created, the general flow is:

  • Order is imported with "4-7 business days"
  • "4-7 business days" is recognized via a channel shipping mapping name
  • Per this mapping, this order is associated to the "Standard" shipping policy
  • During order routing, any source shipping methods mapped to the "Standard" shipping policy will be considered as an eligible and mapped method.
Example:

Customer places an order on your sales channel and chooses a shipping selection such as: "4-7 business days."

To leverage this selection of "4-7 business days," create a channel shipping mapping to identify and associate this selection with a general shipping policy, such as "Standard" or "Ground."

The channel shipping mapping would look something like:

"4-7 business days" → "Standard"

The goal of these mappings is to associate a shipping policy to an order, so it can be fulfilled properly to relevant source(s).
