Why?
OAuth re‑auth is required by July 17 by Shopify.
How to Reconnect via OAuth
- Go to Channels → choose your Shopify channel.
- Open Integrations → Sync Listings → Edit.
- On the connection card, click Edit.
- Click Re‑authorize, then in Shopify click Install.
- Wait until the green Connected badge appears.
Note: Don't see the Re-Authorize button. You may be using a custom app (API token). See the next section.
Custom App (API Token) Users – Update Permissions
If your connection shows the API token instead of OAuth, keep the custom app but enable the new permission inside Shopify:
- In Shopify Admin, go to Apps → Develop apps.
- Select your existing custom app.
- Click Configuration → Admin API integration.
-
Enable
read/write_publications(located under Store content > Publications). - Click Save ➜ Install app.
Return to Flxpoint and test a Sync Listings job.
Quick Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| OAuth pop‑up blocked | Enable pop‑ups, click Re‑authorize again |
| Job fails with 401/403 | Ensure you used a store‑owner Shopify login and repeat authorization |
| Error 400 Oauth error invalid_scope: The access scope is invalid: read_merchant_managed | Reset the page and try again |
| Publish fails with "Publication does not exist or is not publishable" | This usually means the sales channel (publication) tied to your store has changed or is no longer published. In Shopify, confirm the sales channel you publish to is active under Settings > Apps and sales channels. Then return to Flxpoint, open the Shopify channel's Sync Listings → Edit, re‑select the correct sales channel and Save to refresh the connection. If you use a custom app, also confirm the read/write_publications permission is enabled (see the section above), then re‑run the sync. |
